So it’s been a while since my last update, apologies for that but I’ve been a bit hectic with an exciting new venture I’m hopefully about to undertake in the new year. But more of that later on …
Trusty has been having a bit of a holiday. I’ve been very time and money poor at the start of this winter so competing has been put on the back burner for a few months whilst I get myself organised and save some pennies!!
Sadly, we are selling the lorry as it’s become a bit unviable financially. I may be looking at downgrading to a 3.5 tonne box or perhaps going towards hiring when needed as a way of keeping costs down.
It’s been nice to take some chill time on the horse front anyway – the weather has been particularly atrocious so to not have the pressure to ride in order to compete has been nice to not brave the gale force winds and hammering rain. I think Trusty has appreciated the duvet days too!
I’ve made more time for hacking out and enjoying the good sunshine we get now and again. Trusty has been going even better in the school so this is definitely a positive. The plan will be to continue training at home and working towards next eventing season with some dressage and show jumping comps thrown in towards March time when everything has hopefully settled down.
I’m hoping to have some amazing news to share with you soon about a change in my job. Don’t worry, I’m not coming away from the uniform but I’ll have a slightly different role (and method of transport) more of that in the next blog!!!
All that is left to say is that I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Can’t wait for the year ahead!
