Common body protectors are bulky, restrictive and often difficult to get on therefore many riders do not wear one. The TEQNOX body protector is easily adjustable, flexible and aids in protection of the neck, something that has been missing in past body protector designs.

It’s a body protector like no other, it’s performance uninhibited.

My name is Carmen Cummiskey and I am the Founder and Managing Director of TEQNOX. Horse riding has been a massive part of my life since I was a child. I participated in a variety of events growing up including dressage, show jumping and showing.

When I was about 10 years old I suffered a bad fall due to a speeding vehicle when I was out a hack with my friend and our ponies. Thankfully there were no broken bones but I spent the next few months suffering back pain and attending a physiotherapist unable to ride. After this accident my parents made me swear to always ride in a body protector but I hated it – it was uncomfortable, too warm and restrictive. My pony at the time was a avid bucker and I quickly ditched the body protector as I felt it inhibited my ability in the saddle.

A good decade or so on there has been a lack of real innovation in the sport, so I decided to design something that would inspire rider confidence and ability in the saddle. You know what they say if you want something done right, do it yourself.

My name is Caitlin Whyte and I am the Marketing intern here at TEQNOX. I have been around horses for as long as I can remember, my first baby tooth even fell out when I was out riding my auntie’s horse, Darcy, who is now 25 years old. From a fairly young age I took an interest in showing, doing everything from local riding school shows to grooming for a show team at Horse of the Year Show in 2013.  I also spent the past two summers at an American summer camp on the horsemanship program teaching children to ride.

I am currently in my third year at university where I study Marketing and Business Enterprise and I am so lucky that I have the opportunity to work in a company that specialises in one of my longest standing hobbies.
